Below are scenes of The Whaler grounds, Kaanapali Beach,
Whaler beachside swimming pool, BBQ's, Whalers Village,
Kaanapali Beach Walk, and the Royal Kaanapali Golf Course, .

Kaanapali Beach as seen from Whaler Tower 2, looking North:  Whaler pool is
in foreground, Sheraton-Maui Hotel at center top (and famous snorkel site of
Black Rock at left); Isle of Molokai at far left, nine miles away.

Whaler Towers 1 and 2 (at right), with edge of Whalers Village
at far right; other condos and private homes dot the hillside.

Whaler towers are set in between Whalers Village (orange roofs at left)
and Kaanapali Beach Hotel (three linked buildings) at right.  The Royal
Kaanapali Golf Course is in the foreground.

Kaanapali Beach, directly in front of The Whaler:  The Sheraton-Maui hotel
(and snorkeling at Black Rock, at left) is 1/4 mile away.  It's about a ten minute walk along
the wet sand.  This nearly vacant scene is common, although the beach can get
crowded in busy seasons and afternoons.

Soaking up tans on golden Kaanapali Beach: Aaaah!  Molokai is in the background, 9 miles away.

The Whaler swimming pool and Tower 1 at right, alongside the beach and Beach Walk.

Recently remodeled Whaler swimming pool and deck, with the ocean literally just steps away.

Whaler pool, jacuzzi spa and palms, with Sheraton in background.  Note the many attractive
white fabric lounges all around the pool; these were just installed in late 2008.  Free beach towels
are also provided to guests daily, available at poolside.

Pool lies between the two Whaler towers, with West Maui Mountains hiding in background.  Note the
double wide chaise loungers, with sun covers and soft cushions.  There are about ten such lounges,
which are free for use by all guests and owners (first come - first served).  Another extra is that
complimentary coffee is provided at poolside each AM...and free lemonade in the early afternoons.

Whaler Tower 1 at left and Tower 2 at right; West Maui Mountains in background.

Both Whaler towers, as seen from near the ocean edge.

Newly remodeled Whaler courtyard and Koi fishpond between the two towers; pool is just beyond the fence.

BBQ's and 3 picnic tables alongside Tower 2 and right next to the beach.  This is a popular spot
for evening cooking and dining, often assisted by gorgeous sunsets.  Enjoy cocktails while cooking
and meeting other guests at dinnertime, with seating for several families at once.

These 3 propane BBQ's are alongside the Tower 2 lawn, right next to Whalers Village.  2 more BBQs
are provided in front of Tower 1, on the north pool deck...complete with several tables for dining.

You too can be one of hundreds of visitors who board catamaran sails all day, on either side of
The Whaler.  Arrangements for snorkel sails, whale watches, and just open ocean sailing can be
made directly with beach vendors, or via The Whaler concierge desk.

Palms in Paradise, along the Beach Walk, which stretches for one mile between the Hyatt and Sheraton:
The Whaler is right in the middle of 7 Kaanapali resort properties.  This scene is near the Hyatt.

YES, this hammock is just waiting for you, after you stroll south to the Hyatt.  Actually, there are
several hammocks oceanside here, always ready for a picturesque photo-op!

This is the lower level of Whalers Village (3 levels).  The Village is filled with fancy
and practical tourist shopping.  It also offers fine dining at 3 quality restaurants
(Hula Grill, Leilani's, Cane and Taro), as well as an inexpensive (fast) "Food Court."

We urge all of our guests to visit the Village for free hula shows, offered about 3 times weekly.
The 50 minute shows are in the early evening, providing traditional Hawaiian music, song, and dance.
The dance troupe consists of skilled local youngsters, performing in beautiful costumes.

When it does occasionally rain in West Maui, it is usually just light and quick showers:  Sometimes
you can just get lucky and catch rainbows like this scene, from the backside of The Whaler.

A traditional, stunning Maui sunset:  This one is over the Isle of Lanai, seen 9 miles away.
